  1. Optimize clicking in Superbill

    When generating a superbill I must select myself via drop down menu as a rendering provider then select location of service for every patient encounter even though I'm signed on at that computer all day. If I signed on once and the system afterward would default to me and my location then it would save me close to 100 clicks per clinic day.

    All those clicks add up. I once counted around fifty clicks to generate one progress note and bill. Multiply that by say 20 patients and you've performed 1000 mouse clicks that day.

      As of Q4 2015, rendering provider and service location will default to the provider and facility assigned to the chart note that is associated with that superbill.

      If you are a legacy user of the Practice Fusion/Kareo interface, we specially enabled this functionality to mirror your previous workflow. When you see two lists in your dropdown, please select the from the Billing system list.

    • Diagnosis Charting Improvements

      Associating diagnosis codes to a specific date of service went from selecting bullets (in the old EHR) to individually adding each and every diagnosis (in the new EHR). Please bring back the bullets for diagnoses.

      • Appointment Detail Report

        It would be great if we were able to generate a report that compiled a list of all patients that have been No Showed or Cancelled (or simply Seen) for a specified time frame. The report should include the patients last visit before the No Showed or Cancelled appointment and their phone numbers and emails. We should be able to print the report as well.

        • When creating an Encounter, warn if Encounter already exists for that day

          If one clicks the orange "New Encounter" button on a day where an encounter has already been generated, a window should pop up notifying the user that a second encounter is about to be generated! This would be helpful in that it would allow the user to avoid creating duplicate encounters. Options on this prompt could include "make a new encounter anyway," "do not make a new encounter," or "take me to the latest existing encounter."

          • Change SOAP note type to "No Show" if patient cancels or no-shows

            Currently, when a patient is a no show or has cancelled their appt, we can see this under the Appointment tab.
            However, when the appt is generated, it creates an encounter. As the appt is no longer valid, the dr still has to go in and sign off on this to take it out of their task list.
            Because we track these no-shows and cancellations, we do not delete them. I would like the option under the encounter to list the "Encounter Type" as a No-Show or Cancellation. (Currently I use "Letter" and put information on the no-show of cancellation…

              Hi everyone – As of 1/19/2017, we have introduced a new schedule setting to all practices that allows administrators to determine if encounters will be auto-generated for appointments marked as cancelled or no-show.

              We have also introduced a new Appointment Report that allows practices to review and filter appointments by facility, status, provider, and date, making it easier to track cancellations, no shows, and other scheduling details.

            • Edit or Delete Lab and Imaging Order Templates

              It would be great to delete or alter lab order or imaging order templates once made.

                As of tonight’s release, we now offer support for editing and deleting lab and imaging order templates. Keep in mind that templates are lab/imaging center specific, and can be shared with your entire practice. Select the pencil icon next to your templates to use the new edit and delete functionality.

              • Flowsheets for viewing vitals and lab results over time

                Flow charts are needed to keep track of all manner of ongoing issues. For example, health maintenence: colonoscopy, mamogram, ekg, etc.

                    As of September 2015, customers are able to modify the size of the text when editing sections of the chart note.

                  • Bulk “Clinical Document” Export across all Patients

                    I would like to suggest that P. F. develop a better way to generate a mass “Clinical Document” for submission to the specialty registries. This is an action that is mandatory twice a year to meet M.U.

                    As it stands right now, to generate a clinical document we have to do it one-by-one, and the registry has told me they will need all of our patients exported to them twice a year.

                    Please find a way to make this less cumbersome as it’s probably something we’ll all have to do again next year.

                        Hi everyone – As of 1/24/2017, we have released a new Appointment Report to all of our practices. This report allows practices to review and filter appointments by facility, status, provider, and date. Once the report is run, practices can also view the list of appointments based on Appointment Type, e.g. “New Patient”. This report can also be printed.

                      • Actions menu for Documents

                        It would be really helpful to have a drop down menu next to patient's name under documents menu that would include an option to send a message to staff without the need to click on patient's name and open the patient's chart. That way after reviewing the document if an action needs to be taken by clicking the drop down menu we would be able to send a message and then sign the document and move on with the next document.
                        Current set up requires us to click on patient's name, open the chart and generate a message...

                            Hello everyone – As of 2/16/2017, we have introduced the ability to customize your printed medication lists. You can now save paper and select only the most relevant medication information for your patient care needs by printing a patient’s active, historical, or complete medication list from the chart Summary or encounter.

                          • Store Patient Provider Care Team

                            Would like for a practice to be able to add/delete and see each patient's specialist doctors. Like the directories, it would take a few secs to fill out especially for long time patients but it would be very helpful if you have a large practice and need to quickly know which cardiologist a patent sees.

                            • View Total Number of Active Patients

                              You used to have an easy way for me to see the total number of active patients in my practice. I would like to have that feature back. The current way of going to reports and selecting age >0 and having to export to an excel sheet to get the number is too time consuming.

                                I am happy to report that you can review the number of active patients in your Practice Fusion account via the ‘Patient Import’ tile on your Practice Dashboard.

                              • Upload Document while in Patient's Chart

                                Allow document upload not only from home screen , but also while in a patient's chart. this way, when you are working on a patient chart, you can upload a pertinent document directly into the chart. this will save time as you wouldn't have to upload a document and then associate it with a patient.

                                  A status option of confirmed would be nice to note when pt. have been called to remind of appointments. Could note confirmed status for after patient is contacted

                                  • We need the ability to enter more than one blood pressure

                                    Often, more than one blood pressure reading is taken during a visit. For example, if a patient needs to be assessed for dehydration, or if the BP is very high. There needs to be a way to enter more than one BP reading, including whether it was taken standing, sitting, or lying, and in which arm.

                                    • Track copay information per appointment

                                      Copays come directly from the patient at the time of visit. . It would be helpful if when opening a patient chart, I can document the payment, and/or I can see if the patient paid for his/her copay at their last visit. Plus if paid by credit card, medical debit card, or check and give the patient a receipt printed.

                                      • Ideas to improve the Medication List

                                        The medication list is the life blood of my practice. I see you have disabled the list. While I am in the chart note, or any part of the chart for that matter, I would like to drop down the medication list like a shade from the top of the page. It should be a full screen list all the way across. It should include all medications with dates updated and prescribed. I want to have better tracking of medications, which ones were tried, why they didn't work, why they were discontinued, etc. I know the information is available, but…

                                            Hi everyone—I’m excited to announce that we have built a way for customers to verify their identity via credit card instead of requiring credit check for e-prescribers only. This will allow non-eprescribers to have online appointment booking pages.

                                            As of 6/19/2015, we have rolled this out to all PF practices.
