Customized Clinical Alerts per Patient

We need to create custom clinical alerts for each patient. We are receiving notices from insurance companies telling us the patient needs to have specific screenings (pt is due for mammogram, colonoscopy, eye exam, etc.). We need to see this notice when we open the chart so the physician can meet these needs at the visit.

This is a great idea. Are you thinking that you would like to enter in these alerts by hand, per patient? Or, more ideally, the insurance company would connect directly to Practice Fusion and populate the information for you automatically?

We really need an alert - one that pops up or is at top of chart - with things like NO CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES or DO NOT SCHEDULE ON SAME DAY AS.... etc. so need this. - 100% customizable by us - free text

I would like to see a reminder function that is highlighted whenever a chart is opened. For example, a reminder to add a specific lab test the next time the patient is seen in the office. It would draw attention to whatever you need to do the next time the patient is in the office. Using the task function does not work as you have to enter a specific date and you do not always know when the patient is going to return to the office.

It would be great if when opening a patient's chart or making an appointment an ALERT pops up alerting the staff regarding any information needed for example, cops due, balances, preventive screenings due, etc.

Please consider adding a method to "flag" to alert the physicians or staff that something needs to be seen or done for the patient at the next office visit. For example, an alert that the pt needs to come in for a pill count in 2 weeks or to check the patient's labs at the next office visit.
    Thank you,

I drop down list that could be chosen for the entire practice then customized for each patient would be perfect. Similar to how we can customize flow sheets. Actually, why not make it like a flow sheet!!!!

It would be perfect if they were connected to eCQMs. As we satisfy the clinical measure it reports directly to our eCQMs. The practice fusion work flow are very time consuming in this regard currently.

It would be very helpful when opening a chart to make an appointment, send in prescription, open for a visit to have any type of an ALERT to add a comment in which anyone opening the chart can see and address before proceeding.

I am also interested in the pop-up box per patient. Is this something that will soon be added or is being worked on? It would be nice also, if there was a pop-up that had been added to a patient, that a flag of some sort would be shown on the schedule so whoever was checking in that patient could see that there is a pop-up that needs addressed.

by hand. Sometimes we need to add an alert to follow up on something else the next time the patient comes in. Insurance alerts are usually junk (i.e., this patient has diabetes, so our cookbook says you should put him on statins regardless of the side effects) that we don't want deal with.

POP UP ALERTS WHEN CHART IS OPENED WOULD BE HELPFUL

  • Samantha Toth commented  ·

Please consider adding a Customized Pop up/Alert in Patients charts. We need to have a field that will automatically pop up when the chart is accessed by any staff member.
Examples; due for colonoscopy, wellchild, Imms, Patient owes balance on account must pay today, DO not double book, need longer appointment time.... ECT
These alerts should always stay pop up and not be able to be deleted in till the creator of the alert, marks as complete. Not having this option puts extra steps into providing quality patient care. And some things can be easily over looked. Not including, having the DO NOT DOUBLE BOOK Alert. This happens so many times in a practice, anot all staff are aware that a particular patient may require more time then others. This would be a game changer in our Private Practice.
    Thanks SO much

Over the course of this year, we have found that having an "Alert Window" that pops up as soon as anyone opens a chart would be a helpful feature.

For example, the physician or the nurse practitioner might suspect medication abuse by a patient. Without putting an unconfirmed diagnosis or other sensitive communication in the patient chart, they may want to inform other providers in the practice / medical group about their concerns when future refill requests or future office encounters with other providers come up.

In this example, an alert window would be very helpful.

Need a way that the task pops up when the patient's chart is opened. Not a date as it is now. Patients often change appointment times so an alert via task does not help.

Of all the changes - this one change could make a HUGE improvement in patient safety.

WORKING IN PAIN MANAGEMENT A POP UP ALERT WHEN CHART IS OPEN TO ADRESS
INCONSISTCIES WITH THE PARTICULAR PATIENT SO ANYONE OPENNING TO THE IS "ALERTED" TO THIS

  • Anonymous commented  ·

We can add them ourselves but it woudl be nice to see them anytime we open patient chart so we can see when they are de and what they are due for With the current task yo can not look up information by patient just by date

Customized entry by us would be lovely. In addition to alerts about medical reasons, alerts about personalize patient requests (ie what they like to be called, how they like to be contacted, past due balances/credits, ect).

Yes would be EXTREMELY helpful to have pop up reminders whenever chart is opened such as "Needs Lipids in 6 months."

It would be nice to utilize this type of alert for allergies, billing, or patient specific issues.
