Attaching documents to referrals

For referrals, it would be helpful to attach lab results and documents as well as the encounters.

It would be great if we could also attach the documents we upload into practice fusion to a fax. Our office is having to print the scanned documents and faxing them manually.

I have no trouble sending labs, radiologic reports or progress notes by e fax, but I have difficulty sending EKGs. I get the error message that maximum size has been surpassed, even if I am sending one EKG with no other attachment

Also need to be able to attach scanned documents since not all labs / xrays are received electronically

  • Lorraine commented  ·

Please also let us add structured lab results as an attachment

Someone better give you guys credit for being so responsive with updates and improvements to the system. It didn't start out well at all but the new interface is getting much better. Attaching lab results to a referral is very useful.
    Good job!

I'm hoping that when we get these updates, you're actually just updating how documents and labs are now going to be included as part of the "chart" when we print the chart or attach it to a referral. That would kill like 20 birds with one stone.

For children, there needs to be a way to attach a copy of the growth chart to specialist referrals. Right now, we are having to fax them separately which makes them more likely to get lost. For certain specialties, they are very important for the referral. Thanks!

Structured LABS sent to Practice Fusion electronically from lab venders should be an "Attachment Option" for a referral.
All doctors NEED to communicate LAB RESULTS with each other!!!
Why not be able to ATTACH them to a referral?? If they come in electronically, why can't we send them electronically??
Presently, we have to print out structured labs and manually fax them........TOO BAD!

And also be able to include any scanned documents.

Is there another way to send files securely from our billing office in another state to our office until this feature is released?

  • Brittany M commented  ·

I am looking to use this feature as soon as possible, when will it be available?

  • Anonymous commented  ·

Agree with what is listed below. Most of our referrals are to oncology. We NEED to send the lab results and scanned documents. Please keep us posted as to a release date for this feature.

Very often I need to send/receive lab results to/from other doctors. I would love to be able to do this through PF

  • Keely Godwin, MD commented  ·

Agree with the many comments: many specialty offices require that we send labs and imaging. Given that there are far fewer imaging centers connected (and that many of them still send paper results even if they are connected) we have to be able to send documents that we've uploaded to the patient chart as well as labs. It's part of the patient chart, and the fact that they're not included as such is sort of crazy.
Also, it would be nice to easily be able to find patient documents in the new EHR (having a tab similar to lab results, etc).

Definitely need to attach lab results with encounters for referrals. Most specialists require patients lab results. This would cut out extra steps.

I would like to know how can I attach lab results to the referring physicians along with visit note.

It would also be helpful to be able to attach the "Past Medical History" fields to a referral OR to a clinical document.
