Track copay information per appointment

Copays come directly from the patient at the time of visit. . It would be helpful if when opening a patient chart, I can document the payment, and/or I can see if the patient paid for his/her copay at their last visit. Plus if paid by credit card, medical debit card, or check and give the patient a receipt printed.

Actually this problem ISN'T resolved, as it doesn't allow us to mark a patient as paid when no payment is due (for preventive visits, which are covered 100% under the ACA). Please allow us to mark them as paid or to indicate no payment is due so that it doesn't look in the copay view of the schedule that they didn't pay or that they owe when they don't.

We would like to be able to use this feature or a different receipt feature for our patients who are self pay. Currently if an amount is entered at an appointment; then at the next appointment it shows that amount as the copay amount due.

Let me add that some patients may be on subscription plans. It would be good to be able to track who paid what, when, and when they'd need to pay again. Not everyone pays each time, not everyone uses the same payment method. All need to be tracked and reminders to staff and patients sent when payment is due.

It is a good feature but it needs work. There is a section that you can enter notes in but the data entered in the note section of the receipt does not show when you print it and this is the only place to put an authorization number from a credit card payment.
Also we need to run a report on money received daily broke out by payment type and this is not an option

i think the copay tracker is an excellent idea. just one small request. sometimes pts pay split, for example 1/2 with cash other 1/2 with Credit Card. is there a way you can modify how many payments are entered rather than just one. also noticed that the amount entered is rounded to nearest dollar, rather than total amount collect. this would help end of day report with accurate amounts collected.... thanks;)

Agreed, and not just for the visit- would be great to track when patients come into the office and purchase items for cash.

YES!! and please link it to the superbill still. Our billing company needs that info on each superbill so right now we are going in and adding it manually to each.

We are also a private pay office. In the rare case someone can't pay the entire balance, we would like a way to track what they have paid and have the balance carried over to the next superbill.

I cannot wait for this to start!!!

Thanks! Saving time and better control with deductibles.

YES, please! We need to be able to track copays as well as cash, TOS (time of service) payments too. And if someone pays TOS, and purchases a package- a way to track how many treatments remain would be stellar.

This would be very helpful. Even more helpful if the info on copay also exported to AdvancedMD

I feel this improvement is really important. When the copays are received, it would be really helpful if receipts could be printed. It is also important that it be possible for the received copays to be attached to the patient's appointment so that they can be imported automatically into the superbill when the provider completes it.

Would love to see payment or collection of payment in ehr when checking patient in and taking payment for copay ded etc Its easier than to have to go into another system to retrieve this falles in the category of eligibility check and if copay is owed or DED etc we can add what the amt is needed at time of service.

No sure if this would be billing or encounter or timeline. It would be wonderful to have a billing option but if not have some type of basic simple info on encounter or timeline of money taken or credited with a spot for notes or summary.

Most practices collect a Copay at the time of check-in, before the patient sees the doctor. Not having the ability/functionality to enter some "basic" copay information BEFORE the superbill is created, just doesn't make sense. The "front desk" should be the starting point of the Superbill with the collection of the Copay.

  • Anonymous commented  ·

Agreed. We are actually a self-pay clinic and patients are required to pay upon check-in. It would be great to be able to record their payment before the superbill is created. Then the payment would apply to the superbill for that day. We need payment type as well.

It would be nice to have the copay due and/or patient's balance from Kareo appear on patient's appt in schedule.

Having many patients that are self-pay, having ways to keep track or what's owed, if there's credit on the account, and printing reports is the only tyhing holding me back from using this software.
