Schedule treatment room or other equipment when creating appointment
There needs to be a feature that allows the clinician to choose what treatment room a patient is going to be in. And then we need to see that pre-selected treatment room displayed on the calendar.
Hi Leila—is this something that you would set at the time of scheduling the appointment in the first place? Or something that you decide on the day of the appointment?

Yes this would be very helpful at the time of booking

Agreed. We have contract providers who share offices and currently have to schedule this outside of Practice Fusion. Need this feature ASAP.

Must be able to do when booking the appointment!
We need to be able to set up by procedure rooms, also. We have certain equipment in certain rooms. The provider might be whomever is on our personnel schedule for the day, so the provider may change but the room type will not. I've even tried setting up the rooms by assigning fake names to providers like Name: First "Room" Last "One"...but then, i'm having to create fake email addresses to give these "fake providers" access. We can't activate our Patient Fusion because this shows up in their booking, even when I've tried to then "de-activate" these as providers.

This is something we would decide when we schedule the appointment - We have 5 treatment rooms, and when we schedule a patient, we need to place them into that room so rooms aren't double booked.
We currently utilize another software just for scheduling and billing because of this feature; whereby, we need to select a treatment room to avoid double booking.
Any chance that PF will be connecting with Office Ally/Practice Mate by chance?

We have a similar issue with assigning rooms when scheduling appointments. It doesn't mean that the room wont be changed when the patient arrives but it does give us a good picture of whether or not are rooms are overbooked. More importantly, it gives the practice managers the ability to start planning for more space as well as 'reserving' rooms for office meetings and internal needs.
Since room assignment is already a feature, would it be difficult to open that up to assignment and reporting prior to the appointments? Im sorry in advance if you have answered this and I just didnt see it yet. I'm new to this forum.
Thanks, Daniela. Very helpful to understand how you would utilize this feature.
The vast majority of Practice Fusion practices do ad hoc room scheduling when the patients arrive, because reserving specific treatment rooms are not necessary for their practice workflows. That's why we wait to assign a room number until the patient arrives.

This is something we would decide when we schedule the appointment - We have 6 treatment rooms, and when we schedule a patient, we need to place them into that room so rooms aren't double booked. Some rooms are for treatment, some assessment - so if are 3 assessment rooms are booked we need to know so we don't book another assessment, and that we can still book treatments...
I would think most clinics and practices have more than one room? I think most of clinic must use an additional scheduling software, but how could would it be if we can just use PF for that too ? :)
