Copy Entire Chart Note from Previous Chart Note
Would like there to be a master template that would contain the following categories
Chief complaint, history of present illness, social history, family history, past medical history, surgical history, allergies, medication list, problem list, review of systems, subjective, objective, assessment, plan.
If possible these categories from previous visit would automatically repopulate. With a click or 2 we should be able to reproduce the same review of systems and the same extended physical exam documentation and the med list and problem list should automatically appear if clicked.
Thanks for helping make the Practice Fusion EHR better for everyone. If you are passionate about this idea, remember you can let your colleagues know you support it by clicking the ‘Vote’ button.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE add the auto-populate option to Practice Fusion. It takes WAY too much time to cut/paste the data from each sub-heading into the current chart note. Time is way too valuable to be wasted cutting/pasting from the previous chart note!!!

Yes, this is a major oversight. Have worked with multiple EMRs in past and almost all have this function. Copy to clipboard the put text in appropriate fields is time consuming.

Completely agree with many posts, especially with patients who present with little to no changes since previous encounter.
In addition to copying, if nobody mentioned, have a sidebar with a date of SOAP to copy or import to current encounter.
Please make this function possible, it will save a lot of time for chart prepping.

Yes , please! Copy-forward or a "copy" button per field in SOAP or some other way to assign previous unchanged data to current encounter would be so helpful, a great, time-saving addition to PF. We need it . Thanks in advance

Highlight, control c, control v. Make adjustments as necessary. Yes you have to go back to the prior note, but it's a lot less than retyping the entire HPI.

This would still be a great option- especially for optometrists! It would save a lot of time. We would change only the parts of the exams that need updating but a lot of information is repeated from the previous year. Currently we go through and cut and paste it for each section and it takes a lot of staff time.

yes, I would like a button option to "copy" above Assessment on a completed note. Then when starting a new encounter, can go back to prior note, hit "copy", then paste onto new encounter in assessment. Then I can modify items for current encounter, but keep chronic problems documented.

I'm in agreement.

You can create a chart note type with a complete blank page. You can then create templates that contain the entire chart note. Then use the template, and edit and make any minor changes. It is simple and already on PF. When making the template, use the subjective field for an entire note. you can place this entire note into a chart note type you name and create. If you want to see example, contact me and I can show you how I already do this.

Would love to be able to copy previous note or portions of the previous note and then be able to edit the text as needed. It would be helpful and quicker to chart.
It would be of crucial importance to have the option of copying the entire old note so it could be edited to create a new one. Oftentimes in many fields, esp. psychiatry, only minor changes are documented visit to visit. It takes a lot of time to copy paste sections of the old note...
I want this too!!! It is a big deal and would help so much to be able to copy forward.

why cant we copy the entire last note ,it would be much faster then make changes as needed.
Mr Brian Welch commented
Absolutely agree, we need SALT note option, same as last time for each section or whole note
Dr Janet Chan commented
Often we only change a little part of our soap note when a patient returns. It would be great if there was a quick way to copy a previous chart note completely (copy each section s, o, a, and p). Then we could modify only the items that changed.
