Send Notes as Correspondence
When we see a patient in the clinic we write a note and efax it to the referring physician or the PCP. Basically its a correspondence note, but it goes as a "Referral" that confuses the office that receives it. Please allow us a simple customization of the "type" of correspondence that we're sending so it's not always interpreted as a referral.
If I can't find an easy way to generate my consult notes and return the document to the PCP asking for their patients to be seen by me I may as well handwrite them. I was hoping to have PF help me streamline this process. Please help
Yes this is a annoyance to every office please please please fix

Please fix this. Add Consultation note/ follow up note/ Correspondence note as a category to send efax to referring physicians. Thanks

As a specialist, we copy our notes to our referring sources--these are not referrals; this is correspondence, to keep them in the loop. MU numbers are being negatively impacted by this incorrect categorization of activity within PF's EHR. Please correct this.

need to be able to send chart note as correspondence, not as "referral" - specialists like me routinely send a cc of the chart note to the referring physician. This is not a "referral" and should not be counted for MU purposes as a referral.

we need to be able to send clearances for surgery, just like the referral system where we can add attachments , etc

I have had confused referring physicians when they referred the patient to me. I would be so much better to have it be a general note, or for us to be able to pick a heading.
