  1. Allow attachments to patients' messages

Patients are not able to send documents via the messaging system. This would be great if they can send old charts, results they have, etc.

Hi everyone – As of 11/17/17, patients are able to attach files and hyperlinks to messages that they send to their provider from within the patient portal. When received in the EHR, these files and hyperlinks can be saved as documents to attach to the patient chart.

For more information on handling patient message attachments, please see our Knowledge Base article here:

  2. Message Archiving Enhancement

Please individualize message archive to give time to others to see it. Now if one party archives it, the message no longer appears for everybody.

  3. Allow sending of a message from Documents

It would be great if we could send the patient a message from the document viewer, just as we can from the labs. That would entail many fewer clicks than having to open the chart and send the message, for instance conveying mammogram or other xray results which are still sent as documents in our area.

  4. Drop the Cursor in Message Box

When replying to an internal message, the cursor should start in the message box. Currently when clicking "reply", it starts in the recipient box, even though there is a recipient.

As of 6/26/2015, the cursor will now drop in the message box if you’re replying to a message. Thanks for creating and supporting this idea.
