  1. Edit labs, images and orders

Need a EDIT button for orders of labs, imaging. I order labs, images, surgeries and many other things. Patients are constantly changing time and date. These orders have to be in a chart. It would be too confusing on other staff to order and reorder a test, just because a patient rescheduled it. The scheduling is done in our office, not at a facility. Our physicians need to know of changes, especially surgery changes. As the program works now. I can not change the orders in a chart. Other staff need to be able to see the orders and if…

  2. Remember "Other" Lab Vendor

We would like the lab ordering screen to remember what our "other" lab vendors are so we don't have to retype them and select every time.

  3. Order multiple labs with a single click

It would be great if the lab template could be printed with a single click rather than having to click through each test one by one.

  4. Improve Image Order Printing

Many imaging sites, even if we're connected, require paper orders for imaging requests. If we use the order form in the EHR, and we print and fax it, there are 2 very important pieces of data missing from the form as it prints:

    1) The patient's phone number (if they only have a mobile number, which many do these days) is not included, nor is the provider's fax number. We often fax orders to the imaging center and ask them to contact the patient in order to schedule it, they need the patient's phone number(s).
    2) We also don't have…

  5. Common diagnoses for lab ordering

If a patient does not have a diagnosis recorded in Dx history it would be helpful if we could create a template with our most used diagnoses so that we could easily select them without having to search through the entire system.

  6. Task Status of Lab/Imaging Orders

Currently when lab/imaging orders are entered it is automatically marked as "complete" in Tasks. When results are assigned to an lab/imaging order there is no change in status under Tasks. This makes it impossible to see if a patient went to have the studies done.

I believe that lab/imaging orders with results should be marked as "resulted" and those without should be left as "submitted".

  8. Pin Lab Note to top of Lab Result

The new Note feature in the lab header is a better solution than writing notes on each lab line since one would never know later on that a comment was inside the lab. However the Lab Note box is inefficient since you must scroll down to see the lab, memorize it, and then scroll up to write the note. Could the Note box float so you always have access to it while you scroll down thru the lab result as some web pages do for some dialogs?

  10. Lab Reports

Hi! I was wondering if PF would be able to help me create reports on how many labs are done every month for every year. We really need this data when applying for grants. It would be a good idea for us to see how many patients have gotten their labs drawn every single month for every year. Also, which tests were done the most and which were done the least. It will give our clinic a general idea of what tests are being ordered and the quantity of them for every month.

  11. Sort Labs by Received Date.

In the date/status column of PF lab reports, the date should be the received date of the specimen. The date PF uses is the reported date which can have many variable factors.

  12. Can PF make the lab orders section so that providers can just enter the lab tests they want instead of searching for them by typing?

We do all of our labs in-house and don't bill so it takes a lot longer to search by word for a lab test versus just typing for example : cbc, cmp, etc. Please consider an option to manually enter lab tests.

  13. Optional Diagnosis Code Entry on Lab Ordering

We don't bill so it is a waste of time for us to enter diagnosis codes.

Other practices have told us that even though they don’t bill, it is still a necessity for their workflow to tie a diagnosis code to the lab order, as the reason that the order was created in the first place. It sounds like we should consider making the “required” aspect of this a practice-specific setting.

  14. Better Categorization of Lab Tests and Results

One practical way to help both physicians and patients view, understand, and share the cumulative results of all patient diagnostic tests in the Practice Fusion EHR and tethered PHR much more efficiently is to display the results as complete, integrated and actionable information. This can be accomplished by utilizing a clinically intuitive standard reporting format that classifies the more than 7,500 available tests into logical categories and subcategories.

  15. Cleaner merging of Partial Lab Results

Currently, any partial results show as pending or incomplete but they stay that way and instead Practice Fusion sends a new copy of the same lab report but with a more complete lab result list. It gets a little messy trying to sort everything out. Instead of resending a lab report why not just auto update the existing report and updating individually the "pending" to the result?

Hi German—unfortunately, our hands are tied a bit by how the labs send us the results reports and how they certify us for displaying the results to you. Many of them actually require that we display the results separately, without doing the merging that you are requesting.

We’ll raise this request directly to our lab partners, though. Thanks for the suggestion.

  16. Abnormal Lab Results Filter

Can we have a separate category for Abnormal Lab Results? It'd allow for better prioritization between patients. The orange dot is nice but a separate category would be amazing.

  17. Normal Range field in Lab Results Manual Entry

I'd like a field next to "result" where I can enter the normal range.

For many "normal" lab results it's important to be able to see where they fell within the range (high end of normal, low end, center) rather than just "normal". Plus for several common tests, the normal range differs from from lab to lab.

  18. Print Lab Orders a Day In Advance

Can we have an option to print it before it's sent so we can have that handy? or should we just send it and then hand write in the collection date/time?

Our office opens with the first half hour being only for lab draws. In the interest of time, we currently fill out our lab requisition forms for labcorp the day before and they are all ready to go when the patients get in. Therefore when the patient arrives, there is no need to look in the EMR or chart in order to find out what labs they need drawn,…

  19. Easier entry of Lab Results

When you sign a lab result, it ought to go into the chart, or at the very least not ask you what lab it came from. Everything relevant is included in the lab report and should be entered automatically.

  20. Maintain "Other" Facility Name when Manually Entering Lab Results & Orders

We are manually input Lab or Imaging results or orders, I would like for the system to be able to remember the name of the facility I put in in the drop down menu so that I do not have to type it each and every time later on. Thanks.
