In order to display CCDAs in a human-readable format within the EHR, the data in the CCDA must first be parsed by Practice Fusion and validated against the standard CCDA requirements expected of certified EHR technology. If there is data within the CCDA that cannot be parsed, you will receive a notification that the file contains one or more validation errors:
If none of the data in the CCDA can be parsed due to general file formatting errors, the CCDA will not be able to display a human-readable view within the EHR. However, you can still download the CCDA attachment as an XML file to your computer.
- If some of the data in the CCDA can be parsed and some cannot, the parsable data will display in a human-readable format within the EHR and the number of validation errors detected will be indicated at the top of the CCDA modal. Click View details to view the complete list of validation errors. Examples of issues that can cause validation errors include:
Missing sections (e.g. allergies) in the inbound CCDA
Unrecognized codes from within specific value sets
