How do I disable pop-up blockers?

When using the Download link to view or download a document or Medline Plus/Patient Education link to download patient educational resources, the program will automatically open a new internet browser window. Most browsers (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) have a pop-up blocker enabled which may block the document or lab order window from opening properly.

To edit pop-up blocker settings, please follow these steps:

Internet Explorer:
Click the Tools menu, select Internet options.

Click on the Privacy tab.

Under the Pop-up Blocker heading, click the Settings button.
In the Address of website to allow box, type and then click Add.
You can then close the Internet Options menu.

At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox menu button (3 horizontal lines) and then click Options.

Select the Content panel and click the Exceptions button on the top right.
A dialog will appear that shows all the sites that are allowed to show pop-ups.
In the Address of website box, enter Then select Allow and Close.
Click OK to close the Options window.

Google Chrome:
Click the 3 horizontal lines in the top right corner on the browser toolbar.
Select Settings (Preferences on Mac).

Click the blue Show advanced settings... text at the bottom.

Choose the Content settings in the Privacy section.
In the Pop-ups section, click Manage exceptions.
In the Hostname Pattern add and set it to Allow.
Press Enter on your keyboard to add the exception.
You can then close out the settings window.
