Can I e-Prescribe through multiple eRx vendors?

You can prescribe through multiple eRx (e-Prescribing) vendors as long as you are using each vendor at a different practice location. However, Practice Fusion does not recommend using multiple ePrescribe vendors. Using multiple vendors often causes refill requests to be routed incorrectly. When a pharmacist is routing a refill request, the pharmacist will not be able to distinguish which vendor you are using to ePrescribe to this patient, so they will just choose one. This may or may not be the vendor you are using to ePrescribe to this patient. This could result in double the work as you deny a refill using one vendor and write a new script using the other because the patient is not found where the refill was originally sent. Finally, there is the risk of refilling a prescription multiple times without being aware because of the multiple vendors that do not share information.
