How do I send a message from a lab result?

Sending a message from a result:


While in a Lab or Imaging result you can send a message to anyone in the practice regarding the given patient and the result. To do this, you would select the Actions button at the top of the result and choose “New Message”. This feature allows your to send a message to anyone in the practice in reference to this patient and the result.  



When the message window loads you will be able to choose a provider from the drop down menu, you will not be able to change the Patient listed. 



How do I find a message that has been sent from the patient's lab result? 

If you send a message to another member of the practice directly from a patient's lab result  and choose to add the message to their chart, the message can be located within the Summary tab of the patient's chart.



How do I use Keyboard Shortcuts to send a message from a Lab Result?

When on the Lab Result screen, you may use the keys N + M to open a message window. Click the letter N and the letter M and a window will pop up. This is the beginning of a long term effort to make keyboard shortcuts in the EHR.
