Why can’t I sign my lab/imaging result?

Note: Access to the EHR features described in this article may differ for practices who have already purchased a Practice Fusion EHR subscription plan. Please contact Practice Fusion Customer Service for additional information.

If there is no option to sign your result, you may not have sufficiently filled in the fields within the result.


In order to sign a result, and complete the Lab Result item from the tasks list, you will first have to ensure that the result has a:
  • Patient selected.   Select a lab result and choose Change patient in the Actions menu. You will see a dialogue box at the top of the  and it will be required to assign a patient:
  • Once a patient is assigned to the result, you can select a provider and order number (if available). 


Once all fields are completed the “Sign” button will appear in the top right hand corner. The button will display “Sign all results”



If you have more than one result, you can check off the ones you want to sign, and the button will then display “Sign selected result(s)”



Once you click the orange Sign button, the results will be signed, you cannot unsign a result.
