How do I connect Practice Fusion with my registry for MIPS (Medicare) or Meaningful Use (Medicaid)?
1. In order to begin the testing and submission process, register with KHIE
To begin the onboarding process, complete the Participation Agreement and any other documents needed for KHIE. KHIE will provide you with the necessary documents. KHIE will be in contact with the "Primary Contact" listed on the Participation Agreement.
KHIE may want to set up an intake call next. During the intake call, KHIE will discuss the testing procedure and go over any requirements for moving forward in the on-boarding process.
2. Upon receipt of the credentials, complete the registration for electronic submission of immunization in Practice Fusion.
Ensure that the following information has been accurately entered into the EHR in the applicable areas: Provider name, Primary facility address, and NPI. Note: For instructions on editing your EHR Settings, click here.
Navigate to Settings --> Vaccines and immunizations--> Immunization registry.
Under Step 2: Connect, select Connect an EHR facility to your state registry.
Select the facility name with which you are registering.
Select "Kentucky - Kentucky Immunization Registry" from the Receiving Registry drop-down list.
Enter your credentials (as indicated below). If you do not know your Production/Testing PIN, please contact the KHIE representative you have been working with. Select the “i” icon for additional information about each credential.
Click Register to begin the testing and validation process.
3. Activate your immunization integration in the Immunization Settings page
Navigate back to the Immunization settings page and activate your integration.
- Immediately, contact our Customer Service team to transition your practice to the KHIE testing facility.
4. Submit immunization records directly to KHIE
After our Customer Service team has transitioned you to the KHIE testing environment, begin electronically transmitting immunization files using the steps below for the period of time designated by KHIE.
Go to the Immunizations section of the chart and click Transmit all. Alternatively, click the Actions button and select Transmit to state registry.
Once KHIE determines that these messages are sufficient, they will set a "go live" date. You must then contact our Customer Service team to request to be transitioned to Production. Your workflow will not be altered, and you can continue to transmit immunization fields to the state registry on an ongoing basis. Notify Practice Fusion on your “go live” date so Practice Fusion can work with our third party and ensure your patient data is being directed to KHIE correctly.
For further inquiries about submitting immunization information to KHIE, contact the Kentucky Health Information Exchange (KHIE).
