Who can send an e-prescription?

Note: Access to the EHR features described in this article may differ for practices who have already purchased a Practice Fusion EHR subscription plan. Please contact Practice Fusion Customer Service for additional information.

Currently, only individuals who are legally able to prescribe medication can be enabled with e-Prescribing under their username and send an e-Prescription. At this time, there is not a way for a provider to "share" their e-Prescribing permissions with other staff members in order to e-Prescribe or handle refills.

Once you've been activated for e-Prescribing, you'll be able to electronically submit prescriptions to the pharmacy of your patient's choice. Please note that only the individual user that has been enabled for e-Prescribing will be able to submit e-scripts; other practice staff will not see the option to send electronic scripts.
