How do I sync my Practice Fusion and NueMD payer lists?

Once you have integrated your Practice Fusion and NueMD accounts, you will first need to:  

  • Sync your payer lists

  • Sync patient demographic and insurance information


Syncing your payer lists

To synchronize your payers, please ensure that the payers within Practice Fusion match the payers within your NueMD account by Address and Name.


1. Run the Insurance Company List Report. You can run this report via your NueMD Home page by clicking on Reports > Lists > Insurance Company Lists. Please see below:


2. At the bottom of the window, select 'All' under 'Active Records'. Then click the 'Preview' button to run your report as shown below:


3. Navigate to payer list in Practice Fusion and cross-reference the two lists to ensure that any payers in your NueMD account are present in your Practice Fusion payer list. Ensure that all payer addresses match.

4. If you need to add a Payer/Insurance to your NueMD account, click on the Practice Setup button in your NueMD Home page. From Practice Setup, click on the Insurance Companies link as shown below:



You will be able to enter you Payer/Insurance details to the following page and click Save at the bottom of the window.


Syncing patient demographic and insurance information

To ensure that superbills are sent successfully from Practice Fusion to NueMD, you must also check that you have entered patient demographic and insurance information following the guidelines below.


Syncing patient demographic information

When submitting a superbill, NueMD will attempt to match the patient’s name and DOB. If the system is not able to match the patient, a new record will be created in NueMD. Therefore, you can submit a superbill for a patient entered only in Practice Fusion and the patient will automatically be added in NueMD.


Syncing patient insurance information

You may successfully submit superbills to NueMD without patient insurance entered in Practice Fusion. For detailed instructions on adding patient insurance, please see: How do I add Insurance/Payers?

If insurance information entered for a patient in Practice Fusion does not match NueMD, you will still be able to submit the superbill. If the payer can’t be located, NueMD will create a new payer.


Syncing information displayed on the superbill

Any information entered in the Notes or Amount paid fields will transfer to NueMD as text memos on the NueMD claim. Billers reviewing the claim will have a chance to review this memo and post the necessary details.
