Start Date and Reporting Duration
2017 Reporting Year: For all returning participants and all new participants, the 2017 EHR reporting period is a minimum of any continuous 90 days between January 1 and December 31, 2017. Additionally, CMS published changes to the Medicaid EHR Incentive program on August 14, 2017 under the Inpatient Prospective Payment System Final Rule and eligible professionals (EPs) may now select a CQM reporting period of any continuous 90-day period during the 2017 calendar year, regardless of their reporting method. Within the Practice Fusion EHR’s Meaningful Use Dashboard, EPs have the flexibility to choose between a 90-day or full year reporting period. You should contact your state Medicaid administrator to clarify which reporting period applies to you.
You can adjust your reporting period start date in the Meaningful Use dashboard by clicking on the calendar icon to the right of the Reporting Period box. You can choose any start date from between January 1 - October 3. Once you change the start date, you will have to wait until the Dashboard refreshes during the next day. You are always able to switch back and forth between dates as you like.
