Providers who live in the Philadelphia area must submit immunization information to the Kids Plus Philadelphia Immunization Program, operated by the Philadelphia Department of Health.
How do I connect Practice Fusion with Kids Plus Philadelphia in order to meet Medicaid's Meaningful Use requirements?
1. If you are interested in enrolling with KIDS Plus, please visit the Kids Plus Philadelphia Immunization Program for enrollment.
After you have completed and submitted the provider interest form, a Kids Plus staff member will contact you.
Note: if you are a Medicare clinician
participating in the Merit-based Incentive
Payment System (MIPS), additional guidance for new registrations has not yet been
provided. If you have
already completed Philadelphia KIDS Plus IIS registration previously, your active engagement will
continue. If you are a new registrant, please contact Philadelphia KIDS Plus IIS
directly for information.
2. Sign up for an integration through Practice Fusion in Immunization Settings
Ensure that the following information has been accurately entered into the EHR in the applicable areas: Provider name, Primary facility address, and NPI. Note: For instructions on editing your EHR Settings, click here.
Navigate to Settings --> Vaccines and immunizations--> Immunization registry.
Under Step 2: Connect, select Connect an EHR facility to your state registry.
Select the facility name with which you are registering.
Choose "Pennsylvania - Philadelphia (KIDS Plus IIS)" from the Receiving Registry drop-down list.
Enter your facilityid, username, and password. If you do not have any of these, contact the Kids Plus Philadelphia Immunization Program. Select the “i” icon for additional information about each credential.
Click Register to begin the testing and validation process.
3. Activate your immunization integration in the Immunization Settings page
Visit the Immunization settings page again to activate your integration. You will do this immediately after registering for electronic transmission.
4. Submit immunization records directly to your local registry
Once activated, you will be able to electronically submit immunization files to your registry for each patient.
Go to the Immunizations section of the patient's chart and click Transmit all. Alternatively, click the Actions button and select Transmit to state registry.
This will now become your new workflow when submitting patient immunization records to your immunization registry, and should be completed for every patient whose immunization record you update.
