How do I connect Practice Fusion with my registry in order to meet Medicaid's Meaningful Use requirements?
1. In order to begin the Meaningful Use testing and submission process, you must formally register your intent to initiate ongoing submission through the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
After registering with CIIS, their staff or the local public health agency responsible for immunization submissions will contact you to let you know that you have been placed on the interface wait list.
CIIS will contact you again when they are ready to begin the onboarding process and will provide your registration credentials.
Additional information on specifications and on-boarding can be found on the department’s Meaningful Use web page. If you need any further assistance with registering or receiving your credentials, please contact Kim at email@example.com.
Note: if you are a Medicare provider participating in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and have not previously registered with your immunization registry, CIIS does not currently have additional guidance for this program. Once further information from CIIS becomes available, the guidelines for MIPS participants will be updated.
2. Upon receipt of the credentials, complete the registration for electronic submission of immunization in Practice Fusion.
Ensure that the following information has been accurately entered into the EHR in the applicable areas: Provider name, Primary facility address, and NPI. Note: For instructions on editing your EHR Settings, click here.
Navigate to Settings --> Vaccines and immunizations --> Immunization registry
Under Step 2: Connect, select Connect an EHR facility to your state registry.
- Select your Practice Fusion facility.
Choose Colorado- Colorado Immunization Information System (CIIS) from the Receiving Registry drop-down list.
Enter the credentials provided by CIIS during your kick-off phone call in the corresponding fields. If you do not know your credentials, please contact CIIS directly. Select the “i” icon for additional information about each credential.
Click Register to begin the testing and validation process.
3. Activate your immunization integration in the Immunization Registry Settings page
Once you have been registered for integration within Practice Fusion, return to the Immunization registry settings page and activate your integration.
4. Submit immunization records directly to CIIS
Once activated, you will be able to electronically submit immunization files to your registry for each patient.
Go to the Immunizations section of the chart and select Transmit all. Alternatively, click the Actions button and select Transmit to state registry.
Be sure to transmit the immunization file to the state registry for each patient whose immunization record you update.
