Text reminders for patient appointment is becoming Standard of Care within the medical community and is becoming a readily available option among other medical data management systems.
I strong urge Practice Fusion to implement this ability; but to please keep it separate from requiring patients to create yet another online account via the Patient Portal - which will create an obstacle and usage. We, as physicians, should be able to add their numbers without having a patient create an online Portal account; and the texts should reveal only the patients first name, appt time, and offices contact info; with options to reply Y / N to confirm their appointment; along with an option to OPT OUT.
Hi everyone – As of 1/24/2017, we have released the new Appointment Report to all practices. This report allows practices to review and filter appointments by facility, status, provider, and date, making it easier to track cancellations, no shows, and other scheduling details.

Hi everyone – As of 1/19/2017, we have introduced a new schedule setting that allows administrators to determine which practice members are available to be booked for appointments on the schedule. This feature is now available to all practices.
You can read more about schedule settings here:
The main administrator should be able to select via a checklist which "users" appear (or not) in the dropdown list of "providers" when scheduling appointments....just as there is a checklist to select which 'users' are viewable on the schedule/calendar. We only need to see 2 "providers" on this dropdown menu from our list of 10 total users.
When scheduling an appointment in the Scheduler, the drop down box for 'PROVIDERS' currently lists EVERY user in the practice (from Staff, Nurse, NP, and MDs). However, ONLY actual providers/clinicians (MD's or NP users) should be listed in this drop down menu. By keeping ALL users in the dropdown list, it makes it very difficult to quickly find/select the one true MD in a large practice with many staff within that dropdown box. Additionally, if a staff member -upon creating an appointment- accidentally selects a 'staff' member as the Provider instead of the MD, then the calendar now associates that patient with that staff member rather than with the MD; which will make it confusing since that patient will not appear/pop up when looking specifically at just the MD's schedule.
While it is nice to know which 'user' made the appointment, it is extremely problematic and difficult (in a large medical practice with many users of PracticeFusion) to list every user in our practice within the 'Provider' dropdown box for scheduling appointments....and can again incorrectly associate patients with non-providers/clinicians and appear to 'lose' them in the schedule.
