Hi everyone—quick update here.
If you would like to take advantage of the spellchecker embedded in your specific browser, there are some instructions and screenshots here: http://knowledgebase.practicefusion.com/knowledgebase/articles/580137
Thanks to Dr. Boor for the idea to provide some more guidance on this important issue.
Hi everyone – As of 11/17/17, patients are able to attach files and hyperlinks to messages that they send to their provider from within the patient portal. When received in the EHR, these files and hyperlinks can be saved as documents to attach to the patient chart.
For more information on handling patient message attachments, please see our Knowledge Base article here:
As many of you know, we have deployed the ability for faxes to flow into Practice Fusion from Updox. This method of document publishing may be a positive alternative to scanning of documents.
We will leave this idea as “Acknowledged” for now.
To sign up for this service, please fill in the Updox form here http://info.updox.com/updox-practicefusion/ to create your Updox account or call an Updox representative at (614) 798-8170 ext. 1 to begin the process.

Hi everyone—quick update here. We have implemented the feature where previous prescription values will populate re-prescriptions for the same med. You can read more about it here: http://knowledgebase.practicefusion.com/knowledgebase/articles/484230-how-do-i-send-an-erx-e-prescription
Hi everyone, as you may have noticed, as of mid-2015, you can access Quick Preview to look at lab results and previous notes for the patient when working on a chart note.
You can learn more about how Quick Preview works here: http://knowledgebase.practicefusion.com/knowledgebase/articles/483091-how-can-i-preview-previous-encounters-and-results
Additionally, if you’re interested in viewing documents or other things that are not currently in the Quick Preview, you can vote for and comment on this idea: http://knowledgebase.practicefusion.com/forums/276361-product-ideas/suggestions/7137258-please-make-the-patient-s-documents-visible-and-ac
Hi Deanne—we’re looking for ways to provide this information in future iterations of the summary page. It’s already a bit cluttered at this point, so we want to do it in a clean manner that doesn’t create too much data density.
In the meantime, documents can be accessed from the patient’s timeline: http://knowledgebase.practicefusion.com/knowledgebase/articles/483081-where-do-i-find-a-patient-s-chart-notes-e-scripts
Good news! As of 9/28/17 you can now add a prefix and/or suffix to the patient Profile page.
We will keep this feature request as partially resolved as we have not yet implemented the ability to search for patients by preferred name.
Hi everyone – As of 1/19/2017, we have introduced a new schedule setting to all practices that allows administrators to determine if encounters will be auto-generated for appointments marked as cancelled or no-show.
You can read more about schedule settings here: http://knowledgebase.practicefusion.com/knowledgebase/articles/482832
We have also introduced a new Appointment Report that allows practices to review and filter appointments by facility, status, provider, and date, making it easier to track cancellations, no shows, and other scheduling details.
You can read more about the new Appointment Report here:
You asked and we listened: Use Pinned notes to manage non-clinical reminders
Practice Fusion continues to take major steps toward updating your EHR with even more features and enhanced workflows. With Practice Fusion’s Pinned Note feature, we have made it easier for practice staff to quickly view pertinent custom details about patients before they are scheduled, before check in, or during a patient visit. A Pinned Note is the ideal place to record non-clinical information specific to an individual patient, where you can have important information readily available. Thanks you to everyone who voted and helped make the Practice Fusion EHR better for everyone. https://knowledgebase.practicefusion.com/knowledgebase/articles/1845769
Hello everyone – As of 2/16/2017, we have introduced a new section in the encounter note: your practice can now submit, track, and review lab and imaging orders directly within a chart note, allowing you to see a more holistic view of your patient visits with fewer clicks.
You can read more about how to add or create a lab or imaging order here:
As of tonight’s release, we now offer support for editing and deleting lab and imaging order templates. Keep in mind that templates are lab/imaging center specific, and can be shared with your entire practice. Select the pencil icon next to your templates to use the new edit and delete functionality.
As of 12/3/2015, we have deployed this feature to all Practice Fusion practices, now including attaching structured lab results. You can learn how to use this new feature here:
