I'd like to see this for all of the send-able components: e-prescriptions, imaging and lab orders. If something fails, I shouldn't have to start over from the beginning in order to send it again.

This is really important. If I'm ordering an xray as part of a treatment plan, it should be treated like a medication that is also ordered in that same visit and should be included in the plan for that visit. I don't understand why it's not included in specific chart notes, since often imaging or lab is done as a response to an acute complaint.

    Hi everyone,

Good news! As of 9/28/17 you can now add a prefix and/or suffix to the patient Profile page.

We will keep this feature request as partially resolved as we have not yet implemented the ability to search for patients by preferred name.

You asked and we listened: Use Pinned notes to manage non-clinical reminders
Practice Fusion continues to take major steps toward updating your EHR with even more features and enhanced workflows. With Practice Fusion’s Pinned Note feature, we have made it easier for practice staff to quickly view pertinent custom details about patients before they are scheduled, before check in, or during a patient visit. A Pinned Note is the ideal place to record non-clinical information specific to an individual patient, where you can have important information readily available. Thanks you to everyone who voted and helped make the Practice Fusion EHR better for everyone. https://knowledgebase.practicefusion.com/knowledgebase/articles/1845769

Other practices have told us that even though they don’t bill, it is still a necessity for their workflow to tie a diagnosis code to the lab order, as the reason that the order was created in the first place. It sounds like we should consider making the “required” aspect of this a practice-specific setting.

    Keely Godwin, MD commented  ·

Legally, the patient has a right, if he or she is paying cash for their lab or imaging, to ask that the diagnosis code NOT be included. Again, legally, we have to be able to order a lab or image without the code if the patient is the one paying for it (and if it's account bill, like it is for us).

I definitely would like to see the reason for discontinuing a medication, but ONLY if it's something other than "course of treatment ended." Obviously if someone was on an antibiotic for a short period of time, it's obvious that the 10 day course ended and that's why it stopped (which speaks to a previous request for automatic stop dates for acute, short term meds or the ability to put a quit date in the prescription as we're creating it).
But if someone stopped a medication due to side effect or reaction, I'm not likely to try again. if they stopped due to cost, they may be able to afford it later or get it through an assistance program and it may be worth trying again. It would be nice to see that annotated in the med list.
