Hi everyone – As of 1/19/2017, we have introduced a new schedule setting to all practices that allows administrators to determine if encounters will be auto-generated for appointments marked as cancelled or no-show.

You can read more about schedule settings here: http://knowledgebase.practicefusion.com/knowledgebase/articles/482832

We have also introduced a new Appointment Report that allows practices to review and filter appointments by facility, status, provider, and date, making it easier to track cancellations, no shows, and other scheduling details.

You can read more about the new Appointment Report here:

    http://knowledgebase.practicefusion.com/knowledgebase/articles/1124125

    Margaret commented  ·

We recently started using the No Show and Cancelled option in PF scheduler and like everyone else, discovered that it still creates an encounter despite the patient not being seen. This has caused our Tasks to go up considerably. When you delete the encounter it is still listed as No Show or Cancelled under the Appointments section but it does create more work for our providers. We do not need an encounter for a no show or cancellation. It would be easier to create one IF NEEDED.

You asked and we listened: Use Pinned notes to manage non-clinical reminders
Practice Fusion continues to take major steps toward updating your EHR with even more features and enhanced workflows. With Practice Fusion’s Pinned Note feature, we have made it easier for practice staff to quickly view pertinent custom details about patients before they are scheduled, before check in, or during a patient visit. A Pinned Note is the ideal place to record non-clinical information specific to an individual patient, where you can have important information readily available. Thanks you to everyone who voted and helped make the Practice Fusion EHR better for everyone. https://knowledgebase.practicefusion.com/knowledgebase/articles/1845769

As of 8/11/2015, we have deployed ICD-10 coding for Practice Fusion superbills in all PF practices to make sure you are prepared for the October 2015 CMS ICD-10 deadline.

We have also incorporated ICD-10 diagnosis coding directly in the clinical and lab ordering workflows.

To learn more, you can visit our ICD-10 Center here: http://www.practicefusion.com/icd-10/

Making Meaningful Use more pediatric friendly would be so much better. We quit trying to achieve MU because it is more tailored for adults and near impossible to get some of the criteria down.

This is a great idea. Are you thinking that you would like to enter in these alerts by hand, per patient? Or, more ideally, the insurance company would connect directly to Practice Fusion and populate the information for you automatically?

    Margaret commented  ·

We just need a simple box to free type a customized message for individual patients. Nothing complicated, no need for a drop down menu with different options . Since we have so many specialties that use Practice Fusion, set labels would not be useful to all of us. Just an area that would be visible when we pull up the patient or a box where we can free type with a box we can check that will display the alert when we open the patients chart so thats the first thing we see.

Hi Dr. Bernstein, you can still access growth charts from the go to menu, are you asking us to also have a link on the encounter for growth charts so you don’t have to used the Goto menu?

    Margaret commented  ·

Yes, I agree with Dr. Bernstein. It was easily accessible before the flowsheet was added. Even though you can select it from the drop down menu, when you have to do this for every patient, it begins to take up time. We are a pediatric office so we use this every day for every patient. The flowsheet is a nice option to have but vital and the growth chart was just fine the way it was. This may not be a frequently used feature in most adult medicine but in peds it crucial. Please put growth chart back in the note. I would rather have that than the flowsheet in the note. Leave flowsheet as an option to be added if needed.

I think it would be beneficial for all who use PF to see updates on ICD-10 the dashboard when we log in along side all of the new features that PF is developing. It would save time instead of searching for the updates on the forum or knowledge base. How prepared PF is with ICD-10 will greatly impact how well our business does once it is implemented. Please keep us updated.

Thanks to everyone for providing your thoughts on how inactive patients should be displayed in Practice Fusion.

As of 03/25/2016, to reduce confusion when working with patient lists, we have made it more obvious in the main Charts section when a patient is inactive.

You will see the words “Inactive” in the patient list as well as the patient header when you are working with an inactive patient.

Additionally, if a patient is marked as inactive, she or he will not appear in search results for appointments, messages, labs, or refills. If you would like a patient to appear in those search results for selection, you’ll need to mark the patient as Active.

Yes this is a huge inconvenience and a waste of resources and time with just one script per page. Is there a way to print 4 on one?
