You asked and we listened: Use Pinned notes to manage non-clinical reminders
Practice Fusion continues to take major steps toward updating your EHR with even more features and enhanced workflows. With Practice Fusion’s Pinned Note feature, we have made it easier for practice staff to quickly view pertinent custom details about patients before they are scheduled, before check in, or during a patient visit. A Pinned Note is the ideal place to record non-clinical information specific to an individual patient, where you can have important information readily available. Thanks you to everyone who voted and helped make the Practice Fusion EHR better for everyone. https://knowledgebase.practicefusion.com/knowledgebase/articles/1845769

flexibility, please! keep it flexible, so people can work around their unique workflow!
single most critical feature is the ability to create custom alerts (read: not only a list of pre-populated alerts).
if you can make it customizable, you'll have a lot of satisfied customers!

It would be really helpful to be able to manually select and manually arrange my favorite ICD codes.

Kevin J. Rodbell, MD commented  ·

I think we can conclude that different people have different workflows when it comes to coding. The unifying factor is that we all need some degree of control in how the codes display. I personally recommend giving several options of how to list and display them, and specifically giving the option of choosing one's own favorite codes (maybe it's not in your list because you keep wishing you could use it, but you can never think of how to find it!) and manually designating the list in whatever own order that works for the individual.

used to be able to do this, and it was really helpful. your bill should be based on what you did, and if you can't see it, that's an obvious big limitation. thanks for considering this.

For security and regulatory purposes, the Practice Fusion EHR will auto-lock and require password to be unlocked after a period of idle time. Currently, this timer is set to 15 minutes because certain states require the time to be 15 minutes at minimum. We are investigating ways to improve this security feature, which may include customization in the future.

this may be one item that providers think about every time they open the chart, but never took the time to search for... *

in the minds of those of us going from room to room with multiple charts open at a time, I believe this simple feature is pretty basic :)

please consider making this relatively easy, uncomplicated fix.

    thank you!

    * this minor feature is one of the things that people probably don't spend time searching for. the irony of the Ideas Forum is that if it's not already visible, you may not see it unless you search for it specifically!

(for the record, the Ideas Forum is awesome!)

Hi Dr. Bernstein, you can still access growth charts from the go to menu, are you asking us to also have a link on the encounter for growth charts so you don’t have to used the Goto menu?

Kevin J. Rodbell, MD commented  ·

    To clarify my last comment:
I constantly refer to Growth Charts while charting. Please replace the growth charts INLINE, like they were before Flowsheets.

Previously, once you had opened the growth charts, whatever you were doing in the chart, all you needed to do was scroll with your mouse back toward the top, and there they were! You could immediately resume typing, without interruption, and your screen jumps back to where you left off. You didn't lose your place, and you didn't have to re-open any notes or re-position the cursor.

Consider how many steps it takes to view growth charts with the current set-up:

Click Go To -----> Select Growth Charts (closes your current visit) -----> review growth charts ----->

    Now...
    1. point and click to reselect visit ----->
    2. scroll (or select Go To), then
    3. point and click in order to return to the section where I was working ----->
    4. scroll, point, click to replace cursor ----->
    5. recollect thoughts (which I lost in the process of all the jockeying to look at the growth chart).
(Number 5 is the biggest challenge).

It was great the way it was! Please reinstate.
    Thanks for your TIMELY consideration!

This is a solid idea. We’re currently digging into how our current Problem List works and this is valuable input for how we may shape this feature.

How else would you like to see the Problem List evolve and improve?
