As of 9/15/2015, we have released our Eligibility functionality for 100% of Practice Fusion practices.

You can read more about Eligibility at this knowledge base article: http://knowledgebase.practicefusion.com/knowledgebase/articles/637468

Additionally, if you’re interested in having us expand Eligibility checks to include Medicare & Medicaid, you can vote for that idea here:

This is a solid idea. We’re currently digging into how our current Problem List works and this is valuable input for how we may shape this feature.

How else would you like to see the Problem List evolve and improve?

Have the system identify and flag or alert when duplicate diagnoses are being listed. Also diagnosis codes with a period after it (without any other numbers following the period)should be removed from the system as possible choices. eg 042 and 042. are both listed in the system for a diagnosis of AIDS. Listing both serves no purpose that I am aware of other than to cause confusion on the part of the person selecting. The code with the period at the end is also not compatible with the billing system, and must be removed before the bills can be completed and sent.

Adding a feature where the system alerts you when you are adding a medication already on the list would help to reduce the number of medication duplicates. Such a system should be able to identify generic and brand names as being identical: eg adding ibuprofen 800mg when Motrin 800mg is already listed should prompt an alert.

We currently have more than one prescriber in our office approved for e-prescribing. Sometimes the patients primary provider is not available and another prescriber will authorize refills (fax or e-fills). The pharmacies tend to send further refill requests to the last refiller, not the primary or main provider. It is useful for the primary provider to know when refill requests come in in case medications have been discontinued or dosings changed. The system should allow the non -primary prescriber to reassign the refill request to the primary provider, who could then approve or disapprove the refill. Currently it will not allow this to happen.
